ThroBak Fullerton 15x Alnico rod magnets represent a $90,000 investment by ThroBak to recreate the 3 key variations USA made Alnico 3 and Alnico 5 rod magnets found in vintage Fender Telecaster, Esquire, Broadcaster, Nocaster and Stratocaster guitar pickups. We could have taken the easy route that 99.9% of pickups maker chose and spent a mere $6,000 of the equivalent number of overseas rod magnets. But in ThroBak's opinion Chinese magnets do not equal the tone and dynamics of the Legacy, USA Made Alnico magnet formulations of ThroBak Fullerton 15x rod magnets.

Vintage Telecaster Pickup Details
With a Telecaster pickup reproduction it all comes down to the details. A Telecaster pickup is elegant in its simplicity. The smallest details can have an impact on nailing great Telecaster tone. Vintage cosmetic details are cues that the process of making a Telecaster is true to vintage.
For example, the proper look of the potting wax is a clue that the coil is potted to still allow good microphonics to come through the pickup. As it turn out the vintage processes and materials are the soul and tone of a classic Tele pickup.

ThroBak Vintage Wound Tele Pickups
As with all ThroBak Maximum Vintage guitar pickups we focus our attention on winding coils with the tonal character of the best vintage examples. The full, open low end of the ThroBak T-'54 bridge and neck pickups and the punch and depth of the ThroBak T-'59 pickups are in no small part due to the hand scattered wind of these pickups. When it comes to the ThroBak T-'65 pickups the power and efficiency of a vintage machine guided coil combined with Indiana made Alnico 5 magnets make for a pickup that is higher output relative to the resistance reading with complex and pleasing treble response with none of the harshness of many modern Tele pickups.
ThroBak Telecaster Neck Pickups
ThroBak Telecaster neck pickups are designed to provide the full output, tonal clarity and depth the original design is capable of. Each ThroBak Telecaster neck pickup is calibrated to assure a balanced set when matched with their accompanying bridge pickup. ThroBak Telecaster neck pickup coils are lacquer potted, true to vintage, to stabilize and protect the pickup while preserving their acoustic tonal character. USA cast A5 rod magnets ensure the best clarity and output when wound with our vintage spec. 43AWG plain enamel magnet wire. All ThroBak neck pickups can be traditionally body mounted or mounted to a pickguard equipped with height adjustment screws. A third wire option is available for guitars equipped with a Fender S1 switch. ThroBak Telecaster neck pickups come with a Chrome plated cover with your choice of shiny new or aged finishes.
