Frequently asked questions.:
- Will these rings break? No they will not break with normal use. If they ever do ThroBak will replace them free of charge.
- Why are ThroBak M-69 rings molded flat? Vintage M-69 rings were molded flat as are ThroBak rings. The softer Butyrate plastic of ThroBak and vintage rings allow them to take the contour of the guitar top without heat or sanding.
- How do I choose between Bone and Cream colors? For Gibson Historic guitars lightly aged bone is the best color match to the Historic pickguard. Cream will look darker than the pickguard on a Historic. For vintage restorations either aged bone or cream is appropriate as both of these shades do appear on vintage M-69 rings. It depends upon how closely you want the rings to match your pickguard.
- Why do you suggest lightly aged bone over unaged for a Historic Les Paul? Lightly aged bone is slightly tinted which makes is a close match to the Historic pickguard. Unaged will look great but will be another shade brighter than than the Historic pickguard on your guitar.
