Vintage 50's P.A.F. covers have differences in shape and even cover thickness through the vintage P.A.F. era. The MXV P.A.F. style humbucker covers were tooled by ThroBak to duplicate the dimpled screw hole look of thinner 50's vintage P.A.F. covers. These thinner covers give you the maximum in tonal clarity. Just like the original vintage thin P.A.F. covers, MXV covers have straight sides making for easier installation. Tops are flat assuring a proper fit and correct vintage look.
MVX P.A.F. style humbucker covers are Nickel plated with the correct no copper process at the same family owned Kalamazoo plating shop that did Gibson Nickel plating all the way back to the 50's. Prep buffing and plating are both done in the Kalamazoo area with the same processes that were used with Gibson Golden era covers. Every step in manufacturing from tooling, stamping, buffing and plating was done in the USA exclusively for ThroBak.
